I teach students who are 2 and 3 grade levels below 4th grade. As an educator, I am saddened that I have to prepare every student in my class for the state's assessment which is on grade level. Each year my heart breaks looking at them trying to read the on level assessment. Throughout the year I use strategies, modify, and make accommodations on their work to help them be successful. However I can not assist them in anyway on the test and they struggle. I am seeking donations for my class so I can purchase audiobooks to help them read. Having access to human-read audiobooks can support reading skill development. Audiobooks allow students to hear explicit sounds of letters and letter patterns that form words. Audiobooks also help students engage in text and gain exposure to more words, ultimately improving vocabulary, comprehension and critical thinking skills. Please help by donating so they can improve their reading skills. Anything will help to ease their frustration.
