Nicole Tessmer

I was born and raised in central Wisconsin and grew up not truly knowing what I wanted to be. I lived in a small town and all of my neighbors were my age so we played school daily! I've always been eager to learn and eager to help people learn. In high school I always worked at after school programs allowing me to fulfill that need to help people learn! This continued throughout college until I finally realized I wanted to be a teacher. As soon as I started the education program I felt like I truly was where I needed to be. I have felt that way ever since. Since I've graduated I've moved to north Florida and I now work in a Title I school with an extremely diverse population. At our school we have speakers of multiple languages. This adds a new depth to my teaching which I absolutely love. These students are so eager to learn. I see the same spark in some of them that I had in myself. It brings so much joy to me knowing they're making so many connections, not only with learning, but with each other.
