I am entering my 13th year teaching and I absolutely love what I do. Seeing my students smiling faces every day make the challenges of funding worth it. In Arizona, my students don't even know what it's like to sit in a properly funded classroom. There aren't textbooks, there isn't money for supplemental workbooks or resources, and teachers spend countless dollars year after year to try and make up for it. I am one of those teachers. Although the funding situation is disheartening, I am still here. I show up day in and day out because I care. Just that by itself isn't good enough though, and my students deserve more. They deserve access to rigorous curriculum and resources. They deserve a chance to be the very best they can be, and to earn an education that will allow them to compete in a global workforce. That cannot be done without your help.
