About
I teach to inspire the next generation in hopes that they will positively impact their community and the world. I teach about life and build lasting connections with my students that continue far after they have left my classroom. I live to see their successes as they become individuals who forge their own paths. I aspire to be a teacher that leaves a lasting imprint on their hearts and feel blessed to be a part of my students' journeys.
I have been a sixth grader teacher for the past 12 years and I love teaching kids at this age. While these students tend to intimidate other primary educators because of their size, questions, quick wit, and attitude... those are the reasons I love them. Kids will always need a person in their lives that will care about them, guide them, understand them, put them in their place, be brutally honest with them, protect them, and cheer them on so they can be their best selves. I take this part of my job very seriously. I want to be in their corner, rooting for them to succeed.
Creating unique, 21st Century learning and hands on experiences for my students requires resources and money to fund my ideas and projects. What would I do with more money? I'd invest in my students and their learning... and my kids will be better for it.
I'm looking for financial support to purchase materials for science experiments that would allow my students to build and create things, and give them experiences they will remember.
