About
I was born and raised in Maryland. I earned my teaching degree while playing soccer at Frostburg State University. I taught 5th grade for 3 years at Oakdale Elementary. I moved to Georgia this past school year to teach 5th grade and to be closer to the man I plan to marry and have been dating for almost 6 years. This past school year was full of challenges for me, not just because I left my hometown and family, but because the area is different in many ways. At my current school, there is a much greater need and students are often without technological or even parental support at home. This upcoming school year I find myself at the same school but in a third grade position. I have never taught 3rd grade before and I am nervous but excited! I know there will be many challenges ahead but I am ready to accept them! My goal on this website is to prepare my new 3rd grade classroom for my upcoming school year in order to give the kids in this challenging area a warm and welcoming classroom environment.
