Hello!
My name is Alicia Whitehead. I teach 5th grade Reading:ELA in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. For the past 19 years, I have primarily been teaching Math. So, when the opportunity to change subjects arose, I was willing to make the change. Our teaming dynamics was changing, so someone has to be willing to change. I believe this change will equal growth, not only for my students but also myself. It's good to get out of your comfort zone and try something new. In changing content area comes changing some things in my classroom such as bulletin boards, decor, and a seating arrangement to make classroom reading fun and enjoyable. I also need some various children's literature so my students will have a lot of print material to aid in their learning. The money funded for my classroom will be of great benefit to students!
