I will be starting my 16th year of teaching this fall! I have taught kindergarten, first grade and third grade. But my heart is with the older kids! This upcoming year will be my 12th fifth grade class and I'm excited! Fifth graders still love being read to, they still want to please their teachers and they get my sense of humor! The curriculum is fantastic in this grade level too! I've gone through periods where I think I'd like to try another grade level, but then I notice how my babies blossom and mature by the end of the year and I know I want to be part of that journey before they leave their Elementary school chapter. They keep me on my toes and aren't afraid to point out my mistakes! Lol...and I make quite a few! But that makes me relatable to them and makes me more human. I connect with these kids so much, there are often tears at the end of the year. I am so proud of them all!
