My journey in teaching started when I was a secretary at an at risk youth school. I knew I wanted to do more for these kids. I knew I could be a different teacher. A teacher that would go the extra mile for her kiddos. It was then I decided to go back to school full time while raising my children. I got my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and began my credential program. I student taught in third grade and absolutely fell in love with teaching. Over the summer I had applied to teaching jobs all over. I landed one at a small charter school in Temecula. I adored my first class! They were all my kids. I did everything I could possible to make their year a memorable one. I transformed my room into a spy lab, Italian restaurant, and even candy land.
I want the ultimate learning experience for all my students. Last year I was fortunate enough to have flexible seating provided for me. This year I have moved to a new state, new school, and a new grade! I am so excited for the new year and would love to start it off by providing my kids a learning environment where they can feel focused and cared for!

What will the funds be used for
My students will come to school energetic and ready to learn. 4th grade students enjoy movement and hands-on activities that foster communication and collaboration. It is hard for most of them to stay engaged while sitting in an uncomfortable, hard chair all day. They often get fidgety and restless. I would like the opportunity to offer them flexible seating options that will make them more comfortable while they are learning! A comfortable learning environment will lead to more student engagement, which means high success rates!
