I knew I wanted to be a teacher from the age of 3. I volunteered and eventually was employed by the Boys and Girls Club of America and my teacher passion ignited even more. But, I convinced myself that I was destined to be a nurse when I graduated high school in 2004.

After two years of stress, unhappiness, and burn out, I left college to be a CNA. This just solidified that I did not want to be a nurse at all.

I somehow ended up in dispatch and took 911 calls and dispatched police, fire, and EMS from 2009-2016. Taking emergency calls was something I enjoyed, but there was something missing.

In 2016, I went back to school to pursue my teaching degree. In 2019, I graduated with the support of my family, friends, and my inner self. Today, I am proud to say I am a teacher.

This year is my first year to step into my own classroom and I feel peace and fulfillment. I cannot wait to love and inspire my students. I also cannot wait to encourage them to be what they dream.
