“The essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple.” -S. Gudder
Years of experience
Students this year
Mom of two beautiful girls- trying to survive in the California cost of living on a teachers salary! I graduated from California State University San Marcos back in 2010, I got my first teaching job in San Diego Unified as a Third grade teacher. I learned a lot about myself as a teacher in that first year, mostly like my calling was to teach Middle School- not elementary! so the following school year I looked for a new job, and landed at San Pasqual Union with an awesome team who we got to build and develop strong math and STEAM programs. For the last six years working at San Pasqual has been a blessing, but being a single school district us teachers wear multiple hats and have little to no competition for lessening our benefit overhead costs and raising salary significantly. Therefore many costs are recouped by the teachers themselves and sometime this makes it difficult to teach to our fullest by burdening is with additional costs.
How will funding help my students?
Basic classroom supplies, copy charges, ink cartridges, Rocketbook refill supplies, new class set of rulers, new class set of calculators and maybe a coffee here and there to keep me going on those tough mornings when I wish I could just hang with my two beautiful daughters instead- but still show up for my wonderful students that are also waiting for me!
