Educational Philosophy

Education is not a one-size-fits-all , machine marching all students through the same material the same way. My goal is to motivate students and give them structured direction so that they can successfully learn. Ultimately I believe that each classroom community will sink or swim as a team. Buy-In is imperative to maintain the commitment to teamwork.
Students need to take personal responsibility for their contribution to the team.

Each student needs to be crystal clear about how to do what they're doing and when it's appropriate to do everything. Working within the model of the school culture, the students will practice procedures that instill character traits like resourcefulness, personal responsibility, diligence
and persistence.

With progressive discipline consistently administrated, students will be set up for successful participation in the classroom expectations. Using the resources of my current school to support rigorous discipline. The students and eventually their community will be given a chance at achieving their full potential through discipline.

Consistent enforcement of specific, established rules and procedures using both positive and negative consequences leads to a smoothly running class where everyone can achieve.

As citizens, my students need to know more than grammar, literary analysis and essay structures- through rigorous practice of my classroom procedures, my students will develop a growth mindset.
