I teach in an inner city school that uses books for our ELA class that come in pieces. These books are so old they are no longer bound together but have fallen apart. We have books donated to our building but too often they are of characters and situations that the students can not relate to. For struggling readers this is very difficult and u fortunately the majority of my kids are struggling readers. They struggle because they are not afforded the opportunity to embrace reading; it is more of a chore for them. It is my mission to show children that reading can be fun and enjoyable!!
