Susan Tellefsen

I began teaching in 1986 straight out of college in Paterson, NJ. My first classroom was a general education inner city 6th grade class. At that time I taught everything from spelling to science, math and language. I felt I could make a difference in the education of my students. I always tried to find creative ways to involve and encourage my students to learn. Through the years I have have gone from being a general education teacher of grades 4 through 6, to teaching middle school science grades 6-8. At one point I was teaching science from kindergarten all the way up to 8th grade, both general and special education students. After 34 years of teaching in the same district I still hope to reach my students and provide them with the skills and knowledge and desire needed to succeed.
