What is Stripe?

Stripe is a technology company. Its software allows individuals and businesses to receive payments over the Internet. Stripe provides the technical, fraud prevention, and banking infrastructure required to operate on-line payment systems.

How do I sign up for a Stripe Account?

First, you’ll need a TeacherFunder account. If you don’t have a TeacherFunder account, please click here.

If you Do have a TeacherFunder account

Follow these steps to connect a Stripe account:

  1. Log in to your TeacherFunder account.
  2. Navigate to your Account Settings > Financial.
  3. Click Stripe Account.
  4. Fill in all information.
  5. Authorize TeacherFunder’s Access to send donated funds to you.

If you Do Not have a TeacherFunder account

First, you’ll need to sign up. Next, follow the steps above.

How do I fill in Stripe’s requested information?

Stripe requires all teachers to provide personal information regarding their stripe account.

Please follow the steps to setup a Stripe account:

Note: If you have a TeacherFunder account you can find these steps by clicking on Account Settings > Financial > Sign Up Instructions for Teachers.

  1. Business address: enter your “home address.”
  2. Type of business: choose “individual”
  3. Employer Identification Number (EIN): Input your “Social Security” number.
  4. Business website: you can skip or include your TeacherFunder URL.
  5. Business description: enter your profession or position at your school.
  6. You, the individual or sole proprietor: enter your First and Last name.
  7. Job title: enter your current position.
  8. Date of birth: enter your date of birth.
  9. Last 4 digits of Social Security number: enter the last 4 digits of your social security number.
  10. Home address: enter your home address.
  11. Statement descriptor: enter your full name.
  12. Customer support phone number: enter your phone number.
  13. Routing number: enter account number.
  14. Account number: enter account number.
  15. Confirm account number: re-enter your account number.
  16. Email: enter the email address you want to use to sign into Stripe.
  17. Password: add a password you want to use to sign into Stripe to manage your funds.
  18. Authorize access to this account: click to allow TeacherFunder to send funds to you.
