I began paving my career path from the mere age of five, when I taught my first set of pupils (my mother, aunt, and grandmother) each afternoon in the living room of my grandmother's condominium on Long Island, NY. As time progressed and I became more serious about my career choice, I had my heart set on attaining an undergraduate degree from a prestigious university, not only for my own benefit, but for my future students.

I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and started my teaching career the very next fall. After visiting the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, GA for professional development, my teammates and I transformed our grade level into 'Scroggwarts," a magical learning environment meant to excite, engage, and empower our fifth graders.

Staying true to my beliefs related to the importance of embracing a growth mindset and being a lifelong learner, I began taking courses through Elon University and earned a Gifted Education licensure. This August, I will graduate with a Master's degree in Gifted Education.
