Rachel Yzaguirre

My student's call me Ms. Rachel. I just love teaching. I am a Special Education Biology teacher. I have been a teaching for 23 years on the far southeast side of Chicago. I teach approximately 125 per day. My students have diverse styles of learning. I teach students who may struggle with reading, writing, math, socializing, emotions, speaking and/or motor skills. Even though they may be "different", they come to school everyday eager to learn and embrace their high school experiences. They are normal teenagers and I just love them. I assist them in any way to emerge them in the everyday school experiences. I challenge anyone to keep my students excluded and seperate from their regular ed peers. I co-teach and I am also the school's athletic director. Yes... My students are athletes too.
I survived breast cancer and am still standing strong to make this life better for all! ❤
Any donations I receive will go to assist my students with learning the general education curriculum with modifications. I need supplies for as much hand-on learning experiences as possible.
