Nora Ornelas

I am a first grade teacher and I have been teaching for 20 years.
I feel super passionate about my profession. Whenever I start a new school year with my students, I know I have the responsibility of teaching my young students how to read and write. In addition to that I also teach them how to apply real world problems to math and science. Although I work with students who speak English as their second language I encouraged them to engage in daily conversations so they can feel comfortable speaking English. My students are constantly on my mind because
I love my job. Regardless of their academic and economic challenges, I come in every day ready to teach and to motivate every student in my class. The best reward of all is watching their academic growth. No other job can match that feeling! I also forgot to mention that I am very creative in the visual and performing arts ?. I try to instill that same creativity and engenuity into my students with the hope that they too will seek jobs that inspire them to be creative and productive world citizens.
