I've been working for the school board of Broward County Florida for 29 years. I taught kindergarten and first grade for eighteen years before I got certified to teach children with special needs. For the next 8 years I taught in a self-contained special needs classroom with children on the autism spectrum. The last two years I've opened two special needs programs for children with autism in two Broward County schools. My role is now Autism Coach. As a coach, I manage the budget for the programs. Children with autism have a variety of individual needs ranging from academic, sensory and social. It's impossible to purchase everything needed .
At this point, any donations would be used to purchase curriculum. In particular, Reading Mastery for Kindergarten/1st grade.
