Hi I am Kelley and I teach 4th graders at Mayo Elementary. I love engaging with my students everyday and this year has brought new challenges as we have ventured down a new path in learning. I am excited to return to the classroom when it is safe to do so. Since we can find literacy in every facet of our learning from language arts, social studies, science, and even math, I hope to provide books that can support all areas of learning. The National Board Certification process for Literacy has provided me with so many opportunities to learn how children experience reading, so now I want to put this new knowledge to work. Providing access to a wide array of literature genres, authors, reading levels, and topics is without a doubt a major stepping stone to win over even the most reluctant readers. I am hoping with the support of generous donations, I can provide engaging books to begin my mission of hooking my 4th graders into becoming lifelong readers.
