Though my students like to complain about school, they are teenagers after all, they show up each and every day because they want to be there. Many of them are multilingual, transitioning seamlessly between languages and cultural expectations. They are also the most resilient humans I have ever met, thriving in circumstances that would make grown adults give up.

They come to our school to feel safe, supported, and valued for their unique talents. They trust us, teachers and staff, to bestow the education and skills they will need to become successful adults. That is a HUGE responsibility and I am not willing to let them down without doing everything I can.
