I work in a low socio-economic school district. For the first semester each year, I teach 11th graders that need to meet their reading requirement to graduate high school. And work hard at using materials to get them read for SAT's and ACT's to meet those requirements.

Then I switch over second semester and teach English IV Honors.

They have nothing - but, I do my best. I want them to be readers and thinkers. I do all I can, but my school cannot afford to get me the materials I need to get my students where they need to be to be successful.
