While I work in a great county, they have not provided classrooms with their own technology and require us to check out and return bulky mobile laptop storage containers. This takes away from teacher planning time and instructional time. I would love to be able to provide my students with 2 to 3 devices that are as permanent as the dictionaries and textbooks we have in the class. Our ability to 'do more" would allow students opportunities for real time learning-building the 21st century skills of collaborating, creating, critical thinking, and communication, they will need for the future jobs of tomorrow. My goal is for the students to start building digital portfolios for a more accountable way of them tracking their own progress towards mastery of topics and subject areas. The students will also utilize the Chromebooks and i-pads to expand their world beyond the classroom walls to become new global citizens!
