I am an elementary school librarian working within an inner city public k-5 school. I serve a diverse population of 90% African American, 8% Caucasian and less than 2% Hispanic and Asian. I acquired funding for a beginners makerspace but the mid and upper level students are ready for robotics, coding and drones. This exposure to higher technology will bring these students up to the same level as their more affluent peers in a neighboring district.
