My name is Amy Ralph and I am a Librarian at Southwest Elementary school. Southwest is a part of Lexington City Schools. LCS serves a large number of students living in poverty. Every student at Southwest receives free breakfast and lunch. Our students love to read and participate in the NC Elementary Battle of the Books. Each year the committee for EBOB picks 4-5 new books to add to the list of books students must read in order to participate in the competition. Unfortunately, our school has no budget in place to purchase the new books added to the list each year. We desperately need donations to purchase these books.
