Amy Miska

I have been a teacher for over 15 years, the majority working on military bases with Army families and currently with Marine and Navy families on Camp Pendleton, California. I have always strived to be the best teacher I can be by furthering my education and learning new strategies. I have a Master's Degree in Reading Instruction and a School Librarian Certification. I was chosen by my colleagues last year as Teacher of the Year, a great honor for me. I believe my job as a teacher doesn't stop at my classroom door. I just transferred to a new school this year and am on the leadership team, have instituted a Kindness Challenge for our students and faculty, and am spear heading a reading program for over Christmas break and the summer that will motivate students to read over their vacations. I have always reached out across all the campus' I've worked on to build school community.
