Amy McKeever

I am in my ninth year of teaching and have worked the vast majority of those years in small private schools that work with a wide range of students, both financially and academically. As such, these schools tend to pay about half the average public school salary, not because they undervalue their teachers but because there are limited funds with which to run the school while keeping tuition affordable for their students.

I am very passionate about education and, as a first grade teacher, place an emphasis on literacy and reading in my classroom. I personally tend to supply a lot of books to my students throughout the year, to help grow their personal libraries and get them excited to read.

I also strive to provide learning experiences through various activities and projects outside of the typical curriculum lessons.
