Over the years I have learned a valuable lesson. When I think that all of my students are busily working and that I can go and accomplish something at my desk, I stop. I stop because there is always at least one student who could learn a little more. I have learned to put my students first and to show them that I care and believe in them. I tug and push them which leads them to the next plateau in learning. Some require poking with a sharp stick called the truth. I have learned that being honest and truthful with them makes a tremendous difference in their learning journey. I strive to be their coach, cheerleader, mentor, and friend.
