I always take time to reflect and remember my "whys" for becoming an educator-- to help students like my sister who felt she wasn't able to learn due to a learning disability; to create engaging, culturally responsive, and differentiated lessons so that all if not most of my students are able to feel heard, included, and ready (and able) to learn.

Though some days are challenging whether be it financially, mentally, or even physically I strive to give my students the best of me every day. I am lucky to have found a career that at the end of everyday I am happy and truly feel grateful to be an educator. I am thankful to work with such amazing people, my colleagues and my beyond awesome students, who also teach me something new everyday.

I do find that sometimes accessing materials to increase learning and classroom environment is difficult. It is my hope that I will be able to raise the funds to obtain those materials this year to provide the best experiences and opportunities for my students this year.
