“I was not born to just teach, I was born to inspire others, to change people, and to never give up; even when faced with challenges that are impossible. I hope to inspire this in children, each and everyday.”
Years of experience
Students this year
I am currently a 4th Grade ICT teacher. Next year will be my 5th year teacher and I can’t even believe how fast it has gone. I have worked in multiple classroom settings and 3 different grades. I find myself so fortunate to have been able to teach in so many different settings and grade levels only within a short amount of time.
For my 1st two years of teaching I worked in a small private school in a 2nd Grade Gen Ed. Classroom. When I moved to a public school I landed myself in NYC’s hidden gem the Nest Program- funded and founded by NYU to integrate the ASD population into the general education classroom As mentioned, this year was my first year teaching in a 4th Grade integrated co-teaching classroom. I did end up really loving the rigor of grade 4, but I have been move to 1st grade for next year. I am extremely excited to teach a new grade back in the Nest Prgeam, which has molded me into the teacher I am today.
I am a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, NY where I received both my undergraduate and graduates degree. This summer I will begin my post-graduate degree.
Being a teacher one of the only things I foresaw in my future as a child. I am so grateful to have been a person that has my childhood dreams come true. I never expected to teach in as many grade levels and settings as I have, in so little time. I feel so blessed to have this much experience in only 5 years.
Putting a classroom together is so unbelievably expensive. I would be so honored if you donated to me. ?
How will funding help my students?
I am currently a 4th Grade teacher at a low-income public school in New York. This upcoming school year will be my first year teaching first grade in a Micro ICT Nest program. In the previous year, I worked in a 2nd Grade MICT- Nest class, which I find to be NYC’s hidden gem. It is a program funded and founded by NYU that brings students with autism into the general eduction classroom. I am so excited to be back in the Nest program teaching such little minds!
In order to be an effective teacher, I need an easel that will meet my class' needs. I do not have an easel board currently. I would like an easel board that is magnetic and is dry erase. In 1st grade it will be extremely important that I have an easel board to write on and that holds anchor charts. I have found the easel board of dreams, but it is $200 on Lakeshore Learning.
Since I will be teaching students with ASD it is important that they have headphones. Students with ASD are especially sensory sensitive when it comes to sound. I will need about 6 sets of head phones from the brand called “SNUG”. They are around $15 each.
I would be beyond appreciative for anyone who is willing to fund me!
