I began in art as a kid who was always having to move. No matter how many homes we went to, art was a class I could count on being there. I loved the therapeutic aspect as well and it got me through many of the tougher parts of my childhood. I knew I wanted to be that person for someone else.

I studied Art Education at the University of North Texas, a top school for Art Ed and graduated with honors. My passion has always been with the kids who need the most love! My first job out of school was working in a behavior adjustment unit. From there I eas asked to establish the first ever visual art program at an all boys middle school in the 5th Ward. My husband was transferred to the Texas/Mexico border and I spent several years as an elementary teacher and a middle school teacher. After his final transfer back to the DFW metroplex I landed at a high school in the eastern part of the area. I established a metals and glass program at my campus, specialize in 3D mediums, and Printmaking. I also sponsor the art club and have a group of students who I mentor in contests and scholarship opportunities.
