"I choose not to place ‘DIS’, in my ability.” ― Robert M. Hensel
Years of experience
Students this year
My name is Alyssa D'Angelo, and I am an intervention specialist or special education teacher for students with multiple and severe developmental disabilities including autism. I have been in this field for approximately 12 years, having worked in the Cleveland, Ohio area and in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I currently teach in an urban district just outside of Cleveland. My personal philosophy is that all students can learn and possess positive qualities, and that they deserve a high quality of education and life. I am passionate about my students and advocating for individuals with disabilities!
How will funding help my students?
My students have multiple and severe developmental disabilities, some including autism. The funding will help me access a functional reading/current events program called News2You, and supplies for communication materials (to make picture exchange communication and schedules) like a laminator, laminating sheets, a color printer/ink, and maybe even a voice output device such as a Big Mack.
