You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
Years of experience
Students this year
I’m a recovering attorney that found her way into public education. After four years practicing law actively, I found myself unfulfilled. After I began testing the waters by substitute teaching, I found a place that I knew would be home. The school I work at is a special place. Clay High School is a loving place filled with tradition and the greatest group of people you’ll ever meet. Many of my students come from low income, rural homes. Some of my students have no home at all. More than half of our population is on free or reduced lunch. This doesn’t stop our kids from being successful though!
How will funding help my students?
This funding will allow me to purchase lab supplies and equipment for my classes that I wouldn’t normally be able to purchase. I will be able to do more lab activities with my students and better prepare them for their future. Many of my students are considered low income and do not have much opportunity to be exposed to much of the science equipment that is available. I would love the chance to expose them and nurture a love for science!
