Teaching has always been something I've been passionate about, however, the road to become a teacher wasn't an easy one for me. I first started out going to art school for photography but quickly realized my passion for teaching greatly outweighed my passion for photography. I transferred from School of the Museum of Fine Arts to Lasell College where I got my Bachelors degree - through Lasell I landed my first job in the teaching field as a SpEd Aide for 3 1/2 year in Newton Public Schools. During this 3 1/2 years I worked with some amazing teachers who became mentors and friends giving me such hands on experiences in the classroom. I then continued my education through American International College and got my Masters in Moderate Disabilities - then landing a maternity leave long term sub position in Boston Public Schools, where I again met some amazing teachers who became mentors and friends and made me realize I was ready for my own classroom. This 2019-2020 school year I will be a Special Education PreK teacher in Medford Public schools and could not be more excited to begin my teaching career!

What will the funds be used for

Funding for my classroom will help me to purchase materials for my students to use in the classroom. By funding my classroom I will be able to provide all my students with the proper materials for them to access the curriculum and ensure them the best learning experience.
