I began teaching as a substitute a year ago. In January of this year I got a call from my principal on a Friday night. She asked if I could start as a first grade teacher on the following Monday. Their teacher had quit on them. I was nervous but took the challenge! After a very tough 5 months with those students, I was hired back for this coming school year.
