Abbie Koert

I began my teaching career in Grand Rapids, MI. I taught for three years at William C. Abney Academy in the 5th grade. My teaching experience at William C. helped me grow and develop as a starting teacher. From there, I worked in Sparta, MI as a 4th grade teacher. In Sparta, I was poured into by so many amazing mentor teachers.. After teaching in Sparta for only one year, my husband and I moved to Fairhope, AL. I worked at Fairhope Intermediate School as a 4th grade teacher for one year and then a 6th grade teacher for two years. When teaching 6th grade, I fell in love with teaching reading! My husband and I recently moved to St. Simons Island, GA, and I will be teaching 7th grade reading at Glynn Middle School. I'm so excited to be switching over from Elementary school to Middle school! I'd love to be able to continue to build my classroom library to give my students the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of literature and fall in love with reading!
